My Dad's Funeral

My Dad passed away unexpectedly on February 17. I got a call on the 16th around 4:30 from my niece, Jessica, saying that my Mom had found my Dad on the floor in their home and was not breathing. She had called 911 and had performed CPR until the ambulance got there. They spent a lot of time trying to revive him too, but could not so they took him to the hospital where they continued to try to rescusitate. My niece told me I should probably come and that it didn't look good. I drove to the hospital where I waited with my Mom, two sisters and their husbands, Warren, and a couple of nieces and nephews, and my daughter Miranda. The hospital was able to get him breathing with a lot of medicine and machines. However, they did tell us that it didn't look good and they would attempt to look at his heart and see if there were any blockages. The doctors came back a while later and told us that they found nothing wrong so they were going to do a brain scan. Later, they came in and told us there was a lot of damage to the brain, due to lack of oxygen to the brain while he was not breathing. My mother and all of us agreed, we were not going to prolong it any longer and we would let him go. I will miss my Dad tremendously, but I know this is not the end. We will see each other again. I am grateful for this knowledge. I am grateful for my Dad's example to me. He is a great man who worked hard, accomplished a lot, and served Heavenly Father and others all the way to the end of his life. I love you Dad!!!

Hike to Feather Falls

We had family come into town, so we decided to go on an adventure. We went on a hike to Feather Falls. It was little more than I bargained for. We took some little ones with us and the hike was a little over 9 miles. We all got tired, but we made it. It was worth it though. The falls were beautiful.

Warren and Carlin went to a school daddy/daughter dance. They have done this for 3 years now. They really enjoy spending time together and dancing with their friends. Gotta take advantage of these moments while we still can!!
